Abstract:Soft tissue sarcomas are rare malignancies, accounting for approximately 1% of all malignancies in adults, with approximately 15–20% of all soft tissue sarcomas arising in the retroperitoneal space. Guidelines for the surgical treatment of retroperitoneal sarcomas are still lacking. Criteria for unresectability remain unclear, and indications and compliance with surgical treatment vary.
