This study assessed the chemical engineering education in the Philippines through the perception on the level of preparedness by the chemical engineering graduates and the chemical engineering practitioners. It used an exploratory research approach to further discover the gap between the quality of the graduates and the expectations of the industry in terms of the desired competencies and skills for the chemical engineering program in the Philippines. Two sets of survey instruments were deduced, pre-tested and administered to the chemical engineering graduates and practitioners. The competencies and skills were referred from the Commission on Higher Education Memorandum Order (CMO) Number 23 series of 2008 and CMO Number 91 series of 2017, which is the backbone of every Philippine chemical engineering academic institution. Both graduates and chemical engineering practitioners agreed that they have attained the desired knowledge, design and professional attributes, teamwork skills, leadership and interpersonal skills as exhibited by the newly-hired chemical engineers in various fields of specialization. Significant differences in the perception on the ethical and professional responsibility towards community and environmental solutions was observed under knowledge, application of engineering in the design attributes, and the ability to know the contemporary and global issues in the professional attributes. Application of the subject matters in the chemical engineering program was identified as the top area that needs to be improved.

This dataset conducted a comparative analysis of sustainable construction practices of foreign and indigenous construction firms in Lagos state, Nigeria using a structured questionnaire survey. The dataset contains the level of awareness and consistency of practice of sustainable development on construction projects between the foreign and indigenous construction firms and the impact of implementing sustainable development practices. Descriptive analysis such as frequencies, percentage and mean score were used to present the quantitative data in form of tables. Further analysis of the dataset highlight the practices of indigenous and foreign construction firms in sustainable development which can be beneficial to stakeholders in environmental protection and mitigating climate change issues.

This survey data examined the factors influencing commuters’ perception of environmental quality in the selected intra-urban motor parks of Ibeju Lekki, Ifako Ijaiye and Ikeja local government areas, Lagos State, Nigeria. A survey of 376 commuters was carried out. The purposive sampling technique was used for the survey while the sampling procedure evolved from the identification of the study area to the administration of questionnaire with commuters in the motor parks. Data were analyzed using descriptive (likert scale outputs) and inferential statistical techniques (factor analysis for data reduction and categorization). The datasets can be considered in the transport and environmental policies of Lagos State and Nigeria with a view to engendering a conducive environment in the intra-urban motor parks of Lagos State, Nigeria.
