Abstract:BACKGROUND: Malignant Hyperthermia (MH) is a potentially fatal, autosomal dominant disorder associated with administration of volatile anesthetics and/or the depolarizing paralytic succinylcholine. Symptoms include muscle rigidity, tachycardia, elevated body temperature, and metabolic acidosis, which are secondary to accelerated skeletal muscle metabolism.
