Abstract:The families of Anthomyzidae, Aulacigastridae, Odoniidae, and Periscelididae of the Opomyzoidea are rare in nature and, therefore, little represented in collections. However, perhaps this rarity is because its natural history is little known and the appropriate collection methods have not yet been defined. Still, there are records of a considerable number of individuals from this group being captured.
