“…The only constraint on the age of the convergent zone is an unpublished series of radiocarbon dates on shells in glaciomarine silts overlying till in the southwest of Placentia Bay. These samples were collected during a Geological Survey of Canada piston coring programme in 2006 (Shaw et al 2007) in an area mapped as the Burin Moraine by Fader et al (1982).
