Abstract:exhibited a potent post-antibiotic effect when compared to Vancomycin. In order to elucidate their mechanism of action, resistant mutants with a MIC of 64 mg/L were generated (frequency ∼10 -7 ) and are being characterized at the molecular level to decipher mechanism of action of these compounds.
Conclusion:A series of 2-Aryl indole-based 2,3-epoxy-1,4naphthoquinones have been synthesized with potent anti-MRSA activity. These compounds potentially deplete thiols, thus enhancing ROS in bacteria, which might he… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
