Abstract:The interosseous muscles (IOM) have evolved to largely collagenized structures in many large grazers, including South American Camelids (SACs). SACs include lama (Lama glama), alpaca (Vicugna pacos), guanaco (Lama guanicoe) and vicuna (Vicugna vicugna).
