This research is the result of the Eramus +LIMEdiat research project, in which one of the lines of study has had the objective of finding out the perception that university students in both countries have of conflict management and the ways in which they handle such conflict. From a methodological point of view, a quantitative cross-sectional research study was carried out with a simple random sample of 247 university students. The main results obtained from this study conclude, on the one hand, that conflict is positively valued among university students; and on the other hand, that the origin of conflicts is usually derived from communication problems (16.8%), lack of respect (9.7%) and non-compliance with rules (8%). The results obtained on the perceptions of university students highlight the importance of making university managers aware of the need to train their students in positive conflict management and the promotion of education to achieve a culture of peace in universities in relation to the goals established in the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations Organization for 2030. In this sense, the use of mediation on university coexistence contemplated in Law 3/2022, 24 February, emerges as an opportunity to improve interpersonal relations and manage conflicts both inside and outside the classroom. Among the limitations of the study is the size and homogeneity of the sample. La presente investigación es fruto del proyecto de investigación Eramus +LIMEdiat, en el cual una de las líneas de estudio ha tenido como objetivo: conocer la percepción que tienen el estudiantado universitario de ambos países sobre la gestión del conflicto y las formas en la que gestionan los mismos. Desde un punto de vista metodológico, se ha realizado una investigación de tipo transversal con una vertiente cuantitativa y una muestra aleatoria simple con 247 estudiantes universitarios/as. Entre los principales resultados obtenidos de este estudio destaca, por un lado, que el conflicto es valorado positivamente entre el estudiantado universitario; y de otro lado, el origen de los conflictos suele encontrarse en problemas de comunicación (16.8%) Falta de respeto (9.7%) e Incumplimiento de normas (8%). Los resultados obtenidos sobre las percepciones del alumnado permiten concluir la importancia de instar a los y las gestoras universitarias sobre la necesidad de formar a sus estudiantes en la gestión positiva de conflictos y la promoción de una educación para lograr una cultura de paz en las universidades en relación con las metas establecidas en los Objetivos para el Desarrollo Sostenible de la Organización de Naciones Unidas para 2030. En este sentido, la utilización de la mediación contemplada en la Ley 3/2022, de 24 de febrero, de convivencia universitaria emerge como una oportunidad para mejorar las relaciones interpersonales y gestionar los conflictos tanto dentro como fuera del aula. Entre sus limitaciones se encuentra la dimensión y homogeneidad de la muestra.

This study examines the effectiveness of different types of teacher–student conflict in promoting students’ creativity in universities. Previous studies mainly focused on the negative effects of conflict; few examined its positive effects. Teacher–student conflict in university classes can take many forms; however, there are no clear definitions of the various types of such conflict. This study classified teacher–student conflict as understanding conflict, process conflict, and relationship conflict, and we used this classification to extend prior research by revealing the beneficial impacts of teacher–student conflict on students’ creativity. We empirically examined the relationship between teacher–student conflict and students’ creativity. The hypotheses were supported by using data from questionnaires completed by 2009 students at 17 American universities. We then conducted a hierarchical regression analysis of the data using structural equation modeling. The findings indicate that understanding conflict and process conflict had significant positive effects on students’ creativity, whereas relationship conflict had a significant negative effect on students’ creativity. This study thus revealed the positive effect of teacher–student conflict in university classes and suggests encouraging conflict (understanding conflict and process conflict) as a unique teaching method to stimulate students’ creativity.

The observation of this research is to identify, evaluate, and interpret the work of researchers and practitioners in developing HR competencies in Higher Education with a comparative approach based on literature studies or Systematic Literature Review systematically. Based on 34 articles published during the period from 2012 to 2022. The results showed that from the geographical area of the 34 articles that met the criteria came from 27 countries dominated by Nigeria (9%), USA (6%), Indonesia (6 %), China (6%), Tanzania (6%), Jordan (6%) and Kazakhstan (6%). Based on the Scope by field and research method, the method for developing human resource competencies in tertiary institutions has been carried out in 34 different journals in different disciplines consisting of Education Learning (50%), Human Resources (9%), Management (9%), Social Sciences (9%), Business (3%) and other journals (19%) with no specific fields. Based on the Research Method and Sample the most widely used method is the interview method with qualitative data types and taking samples of lecturers. The results of this study indicated that there are various processes that universities go through to create a human resource competency development model starting from recruitment and selection as well as training which is the most widely used method. Besides that, the development of human resource competencies also requires special attention in improving the hard skills and soft skills possessed by lecturers so that they can improve the quality of the learning process and alumni to be ready to compete in the work world.
