Sustainability Stories to Encounter Competences for Sustainability

Abstract: We communicate, relate, educate and make our world meaningful through stories. Stories are integrated in and are a part of every sustainability issue. “…I och med att samhällstransformation som målsättning innebär en politisk tendens i hållbarhetsundervisningen förespråkar Håkansson och medförfattare (2018) ett medvetet förhållningssätt där olika perspektiv, effekter och målkonflikter synliggörs. I likhet med andra, menar vi att intressekonflikter tränar barnens förmåga till kritiskt förhållningssätt (tex Uhrqvist et al, 2021;Hedefalk et al, 2015;Rieckmann, 2018), demokratisk handlingskompetens (Almers, 2013) och former av deltagande (Lundegård & Caiman, 2019). Medan flertalet studier således poängterar att utbildning för hållbar utveckling handlar om att utveckla barns kompetenser för hållbar samhällstransformation visar resultaten av den här studien att respondenterna i hög grad uppfattar lärande för hållbar utveckling som en undervisning där personalen ska ha givna svar på frågor, snarare än att utforska, skapa eller utveckla kunskap och kompetenser tillsammans med barnen.…”
