Abstract:The mass consumption of plastic straws already seriously causes environmental pollution and harms human health, which urgently requires the manufacture of eco-friendly straws as alternatives. Herein, a facile approach was reported for producing tough, water-resistant, and biodegradable lignocellulose straws. The renewable agricultural residue (i.e., rice stalk) was pretreated with a deep eutectic solvent to redistribute lignin from the stalk fibers and obtain two cellulosic materials: lignin-regenerated cellul… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
