Switched link PWM current source converters with harmonic elimination at the mains

Abstract: Novel switched link pulse-width-modulated (PWM) current source converters are presented. These converters supply a controlled dc current to the load with a concurrent elimination of selected harmonics in the ac mains. The new topologies permit minimal constraints to be formulated resulting in significantly more efficient PWM patterns than hitherto reported in the literature. A higher number of harmonics are thus eliminated at the mains for a given switching frequency while maintaining a control capability of t… Show more

“…However, just an even number of harmonics can be eliminated. On the other hand, [30] proposes using single-phase CSRs to form three-phase structures. This alternative alleviates the resulting nonlinear equations to be solved; however, the number of power switches increases up to twice as compared to the standard six-switches configuration.…”

“…The requirements of this converter are the power exchange between grid and plant or the power factor correction. For these applications a control with pulse width modulated controllers is state of art [5]- [7], which shows a medium control bandwidth. For the generation of a high frequency current for measuring the grid impedance in a frequency range up to 10 kHz a fast control is required.…”
