Summary
Experiments are described which fail to demonstrate that oral Vitamin A protects from the burning effects of the sun. Vitamin A tablets taken in the dosage advised for sun‐protection do raise the level of Vitamin A in the serum. There was no evidence that sun exposure causes a fall in serum Vitamin A, although there was a suggestion that if the serum level is raised by administration of the vitamin there will be a fall on sun exposure. This last finding requires further study.
