Symmetry of Massive Rarita–schwinger Fields

Abstract: We derive the general lagrangian and propagator for a vector-spinor field in ddimensions and show that the physical observables are invariant under the so-called point transformation symmetry. Until now the symmetry has not been exploited in any non-trival way, presumably because it is not an invariance of the classical action nor is it a gauge symmetry. Nevertheless, we develop a technique for exploring the consequences of the symmetry leading to a conserved vector current and charge. The current and charge a… Show more

“…However, the RCQM doublet has the additional characteristics such as the spin operator − → s (15), which is the carrier of the internal degrees of freedom of this multiplet. The set of generators ( p µ , j µν ) (formulas (22), (23) below) of the main dynamical variables (formulas (73) in [1]) of the doublet are the functions of the following basic set of 9 functionally independent operators …”

“…Even the quantization of higher-spin fields generated the questions. These and other deficiencies of the known equations for higher-spin are considered in [59][60][61][62][63][64][65][66][67][68][69][70][71][72][73][74][75][76][77] (a brief review of deficiencies see in [69]). …”

“…This higher-spin field, described by the Rarita-Schwinger equations [2][3][4], has to obey certain constraints to have correct degrees of freedom when it is on the physical shell. At the renormalizable level, it can couple to the SM matter via only the neutrino portal (the composite SM singlet formed by the lepton doublet and the Higgs field).…”
