Show more

“…In the Aisne valley, statistical analyses of the types of decorations allow to distinguish four stages. House 120 of Bucy-le-Long "La Héronnière" is attributed to the first one [ 51 , 53 ]. Houses 380 and 570 from Cuiry-lès-Chaudardes are both dated to the second stage of the Aisne seriation [ 52 ].…”

“…As a working hypothesis, it will be considered here that each phase represents a group of contemporary or near-contemporary houses and that each phase lasted an estimated 25-50 years. The internal settlement chronology ties in both with the regional sequence (Ilett -Plateaux 1995;Constantin -Ilett 1997) and with the much longer ceramic chronologies now available for Lorraine and Alsace (Blouet et al 2013a;2013b).…”

“…Most of this exogenous decoration is comparable to styles typical of the Moselle region, notably Lorraine. A recent review of the evidence mentions eight types of main decoration that can be attributed to stylistic traditions from the Moselle (Blouet et al 2013b). The most commonly represented theme is a chevron pattern consisting of comb-impressed bands, occasionally combined with an incised line (fig.…”

“…In the current state of research (seriation of the ceramic assemblages in progress), the settlement is attributed to the second half of the late LBK for the Meuse basin (i.e. LBK B of Blouet et al, 2013;Modderman IIb, IIc of Modderman, 1970) and to the final LBK (Modderman IId). The adjoining post-LBK occupation extends over two sectors, of which almost 13,000 m 2 have been explored: one on the ridge and on the upper part of the southern side of the 'Gibour' site (some ten metres west of the LBK settlement), the other some hundred metres west of the 'À la Croix Marie-Jeanne' site.…”
