Synergy Effects of Hydrodynamic Conditions and Surfactant on Sorption Behavior of Bisphenol A

Abstract: The synergy effects of hydrodynamic conditions and cetyl trimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) on the distribution behavior of bisphenol A (BPA) in sediment have been investigated using particle entrainment simulator (PES) and water bath shaker. The results showed that when the concentration of CTAB is below its critical micelle concentration (CMC), the shear stress has almost no effect on the equilibrium sorption amount of BPA on sediment, which is mainly related to the surfactant concentration.
