Syntheses, Crystal Structure, and Properties of the Cage-like, Hexaacidic P 12 S 12 N 8 (NH) 6 ·14H 2 O and Its Salts Li 6 [P 12 S 12 N 14 ]·26H 2 O, (NH 4 ) 6 [P 12 S 12 N 14 ]·10H 2 O, and K 6 [P 12 S 12 N 14 ]·8H 2 O. -Compounds (IV) and (VI) are obtained from (III) by ion exchange reactions (yields given in g). As revealed by single crystal XRD, compound (III) crystallizes in the rhombohedral space group R3c with Z = 6, (IV) in the triclinic space group P1 with Z = 1, (V) in the hexagonal space group P6 3 with Z = 2, and compound (VI) in the cubic space group Fm3 with Z = 4. The compounds are built up by isosteric P-N cages [P 12 S 12 N 8 [3] N 6 [2] ] 6− . Each of them is made up of twelve P 3 N 3 rings, which exclusively exhibit the boat conformation. The IR and Raman spectra of the compounds are given and discussed. -(
