Synthesis and Anti-Aphid Aphis Gossypii Glover Activity of Some New Quinoline Derivatives

Abstract: A series of quinoline derivatives have been elaborated from reaction of 2-(m-and p-acetylanilino)-quinolines 6a-b with aldehydes under Claisen-Schmidt conditions followed by cyclization with phenyl hydrazine and hydroxylamine. Reaction of 6a and 6b with hydrazine, semicarbazide and thiosemicarbazide, cyanoacetylhydrazide and some subsequent condensation reactions led to diverse quinoline derivatives. Anti-Aphid Aphis gossypii that harm cotton crop in Egypt was screened. Compound 12 showed an LC 50 value of 194… Show more

“…Conventional and unconventional methods for the synthesis of alkylidene thiosemicarbazide had been extensively reported (58)(59)(60)(61)(62)(63). Most of these methods involve condensation reaction of carbonyl compounds and thiosemicarbazide in alcohol with catalytic amounts of acetic acid or mineral acids for about 3-72 h at room temperature or under reflux (59)(60)(61)(62)(63)(64). Moreover, recently a more facile synthesis under ultrasound or microwave (MW)assisted methods were reported (58).…”

“…As our program aims to develop an environmentally friendly approach to synthesize bioactive products using agro-waste instead of petrochemicals [33][34][35][36], the black liquor obtained from the solar pulping of rice straw [6] was used in the current study along with chicken feather waste to prepare and evaluate the biopesticidal activity of a new formulation and its e ciency when applied as seed dressing and soil drench to control root rot and root knot diseases of green beans in natural eld conditions.…”
