Synthesis and Antifungal Activity of Some Novel Coumarin‐Amino Acid Conjugates

Abstract: A series of novel coumarin-amino acid conjugates was synthesized and structural characterization was done by various spectroscopic methods. All the conjugates were screened for their antifungal activity against five fungal strains namely T. rubrum, A. niger, A. fumigatus, A. flavus and C. albicans by twofold serial microdilution method. Some of them showed significant activity with MIC values in the range of 6.25-25 μg/ mL. Notably, compound 5 e showed potential antifungal effect against three tested strains w… Show more

“…The SWNTs are synthesized from virgin LD‐PE and PP plastics [105] . LD‐PE and PP are pyrolyzed at between 370 to 550 °C ranges, [105–115] which is determined by TGA. The high quality of the SWNTs was found with an oxidation peak at 588 °C while the oxidation of graphite flakes that a shoulder peak between 400 to 500 °C, which encapsulates the MgO supported by a catalyst‐free approach during the CVD process.…”

“…They are generally mentioned with various biological effects such as antimicrobial, [5] anticancer, [6] antiviral, [7] anti‐malarial, [8] anti‐leishmanial, [9] and enzyme inhibitory [10] activities. In addition, coumarins are a different type of biologically active organic structures having oxygen‐containing heterocycles and are used in typical human diseases such as cancer, [11] viral, [12] bacterial [13] /fungal infections, [14] tuberculosis, [15] blood coagulation, [16] and malaria [17] . These compounds also show significant biological or pharmacological activities such as antioxidant, [18] antidiabetic, [19] anti‐HIV, [20] anti‐inflammatory, [21] hepatoprotective [22] etc.…”
