Synthesis and Antimicrobial Activity of Modified 1,3,4-Oxadiazoles and Their Sugar Derivatives
Adel Abdel-Rahman
Abstract:A number of new substituted [(nitro-1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl]-1,3,4oxadiazoles, their derived sugar hydrazones as well as their N-and S-substituted derivatives were synthesized and tested for their antimicrobial activity against Bscillus subtilis (Gram-positive), Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Gram-negative), and Streptomyces species (Actinomycetes). The synthesized compounds displayed different degrees of antimicrobial activities or inhibitory actions.
