Synthesis and Application of Oligomer with Hydroxy Groups based on Peroxy Derivative of ED-24 Epoxy Resin and PolyTHF-2000 Oligoether

Abstract: Abstract. New oligomer with peroxy, primary and secondary hydroxy groups has been synthesized on the basis of peroxy derivative of ED-24 epoxy resin (PO) and PolyTHF-2000 oligoether according to the developed procedure. The effect of the catalysts nature and amount, temperature and process time on the reaction rate has been studied. Benzyltriethylammonium chloride, potassium hydroxide, 1,4-diazobicyclooctane and the mixture composed of benzyltriethylammonium chloride and KOH (molar ratio 1:1) were used as the … Show more

“…The synthesis of heterotelechelic oligomers with terminal hydroxyl and carboxy groups via polymer-analogous transformations is shown in several works. [8][9][10][11][12] Polymers with biologically active fragments can also be obtained by this method. 13 The use of chain transfer agents is a convenient and effective method of control the lengths of kinetic and material chains, i.e., the rate and yield of polymerization and molecular weight distribution of macromolecules, and determines the entry into their structure of terminal functional fragments.…”

“…The reason is their advantages over other polymers such as easiness during products formation and good operational characteristics of the final products [6]. For many years the researches regarding the creation of ER based oligomers with various functional groups [7][8][9][10][11][12] have been conducted at Lviv Polytechnic National University (Ukraine).…”

“…Recently the researches of the Department of Petroleum Chemistry and Technology (Lviv Polytechnic National University, Lviv Ukraine) carried out chemical modification of epoxy resins by unsaturated [6] and saturated acids [7], glycols [8,9], hydroperoxides [10]. The modified epoxy compounds contain free epoxy and other functional groups, namely carboxy, primary hydroxy, peroxy, acrylate fragment.…”
