Abstract:In this article, a series of Schiff-base compounds is prepared by consending aromatic dialdehydes and diamines in the presence of p-toluenesulfonic acid as catalyst. The prepared Schiff bases are characterized by CHNS/O, NMR and FTIR techniques. Moreover, analytical applications of Schiff bases as chelating agent was evaluated by loading (20 %) of compounds (B and C) the urethanic foams.
