Synthesis and biological activity of chlorinated polyketone resins

Abstract: Some polyketones were prepared from p-xylene, chloroacetylchloride, 1 ,2-dichloroethane and dichloromethane using anhydrous aluminiumtrichloride and carbon disulfide as solvent. The resins thus obtained have been characterized by IR spectra and number average molecular weight. The thermal properties have been studied by thermogravimetry and differential scanning calorimetry.
