“…3,4 Moreover, CC is hazardous to humans and animals as its prolonged exposure causes depression of central nervous system, mutagenesis and cancerous alteration. 5 Thus it has been classified as a probable human carcinogen by International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC). 6 Hence, an accurate estimation of assessment of CC in environmental samples is essential.…”

“…A single-crystal X-ray diffraction study reveals that 1 crystallizes in the triclinic space group P -1, with two crystalgraphic independent Cr( L 1 ) 3 molecules in the asymmetric unit. Three 8-hydroxyquinolinate ligands L 1 chelate to one Cr centers in the mer -geometry to form a propeller-like Cr( L 1 ) 3 , thus, the Cr centers adopt an octahedral coordination environment, which was confirmed by the paramagnetic S = 3/2 system ( d 3 electron configuration) of Cr center in complex 1 (see Figure 1) [29,30]. In the octahedral geometry, the Cr-O, Cr-N distances are fall in the range of 1.9176(2)–1.949(2) Å and 2.102(2)–2.186(2) Å, respectively (See Table 2), which are comparable with those reported [26].…”

“…In FT-IR spectra of ligand a sharp absorption bands appeared at about 1599 cm -1 which may be assigned for the combination of -CH=N. This peak was shifted in the S1-S4, complexes and appeared in the range 1518-1565 cm -1 , clearly indicating coordination of metal through imine nitrogen 23,24 . A representative FT-IR spectrum of complex S2 is given in Figure 6.…”
