Abstract:A new triamine 1,3,5‐tris{4′‐[4″‐(4″′‐aminophenoxy) phenylsulfonyl]phenoxy} benzene (TAPPSPB) was synthesized and successfully polymerized into hyperbranched polyimides (HBPIs) with commercially available dianhydrides BTDA and PMDA by A2+B3 method. HBPI‐PMDA‐AMT2/MWCNT nanocomposites were prepared by the reaction of TAPPSPB with PMDA and amino functionalized MWCNT by the conventional two step method by varying the percentage of MWCNT (1, 3, 5, and 7 wt%).The structure of the amine and the resulting hyperbranch… Show more
“… 62 The LOI values of polymer should be above the threshold value of 26 which render them self-extinguishing, a valuable property for many applications where high flame resistance are required. 63 The LOI values of polyimide and nanocomposites are between 27 and 47 indicating high flame resistance with good self-extinguishing property. Here, the silica nano particles enhance the flame retardancy of polyimides.…”
Novel polyimides containing two long/bulky aromatic pendent chains and their nanocomposites with aromatic amine functionalized silica were prepared from a new diamine bis(4-aminophenyl)bis{3,4[(4-(8-quinolyloxymethyl carbonyl)phenoxy)]}methane.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
