“…The liquid degradation products collected from the sample treated at 523 • C were analyzed using a gas chromatograph-mass spectrometer GC-MS QP2010 (Shimadzu Co., Japan). [15,16]. The peak at 3050 cm −1 is due to the vibration of C-H of phenylene groups.…”

“…A strong peak at 1079 cm −1 has been assigned to Si-O-Si stretch, while the peaks at 1104 and 1081 cm −1 , Scheme 1. which are assigned to Si-O-C in monomer vinyl triethoxysilane (VTES), shown in Fig. 2a, are absent in the nanoparticles [8,9,21]. These peaks of Si-O-C vibrations in VTES disappear due to the hydrolysis of the ethoxy groups, and a single 1079 cm −1 peak of Si-O-Si emerges.…”

“…Numerous research groups have studied alkylsilanes and alkoxysilanes as components in hybrid materials for surface modifications [3][4][5][6][7]. Various other alkylalkoxysilanes have been used in the synthesis of alkylpoly(siloxanes) [8][9][10][11][12].…”

“…By this method, a series of ladder-like polysilsesquioxanes (RSiO 3/2 ) n (R ¼ alkyl, aryl, allyl, vinyl, amino, and so on) have been synthesized. [7] Recently, we also prepared a series of ladder-like organo-bridged polysiloxanes including phenylene-bridged polysiloxane and its mesomorphic polymers, [8,9] and diphenyl ether-bridged polysiloxane as well as aryl ester-bridged ladder-like polysiloxane via p-p interaction templated synthesis [10,11] However, the structural regularity of these polymers is still limited because of the weak template effect caused by the fragile Si-N linkage and weak H-bonding of N-HÁÁÁN between phenylenediamine molecules in the former case or the weak p-p template interactions in the latter. Obviously, efficient templates with stronger secondary interactions are highly desired for preparing structurally well-controlled ladder-like polysiloxanes.…”
