Synthesis and characterization of magnetic iron oxide nanoparticles.

Abstract:Three high-purity cubic spinel-type crystalline magnetic iron oxides i.e. Fe3O4, CoFe2O4, and NiFe2O4 nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by co-precipitation method. X-ray diffraction (XRD) showed the formation of stoichiometric phases with average particle size of 11.7 nm, 23.6 nm, and 16.4 nm for the as-prepared Fe3O4, CoFe2O4, and NiFe2O4 nanoparticles, respectively.
