Synthesis and Characterization of Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes Decorated ZnO Nanocomposite

Abstract: ULTI-WALLED carbon nanotubes decorated Zinc oxide ..........(MWCNTs/ZnO) nanocomposites with ratio of (99: 1 wt %) was prepared using sol gel method. Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) and The X-ray diffraction pattern (XRD) showed that the MWCNTs/ZnO nanocomposites was synthesized with particle size ranging from 2-7 nm and crystalline size about 7nm. The Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy (FESEM) images demonstrate that ZnO had grown on the walls of MWCNTs were uniformed layer in the shape of thi… Show more

“…The absorption peak that is centered at 1660 cm −1 is indicative of the carbon skeleton vibrations exhibited by the carbon nanotubes. 40,41 The FTIR analysis also confirmed the presence of β-phase PVDF in the PVDF-MWCNT foam. The transition from the α-phase to the β-phase in the PVDF-MWCNT foam is thought to occur due to the improved compatibility between carboxylic acid groups and CF 2 groups.…”

“…The absorption peak centered at 1570 cm −1 correspond to the vibration of the carbon skeleton of the carbon nanotubes. 39,40 The FT-IR results also indicated the formation of β-phase PVDF in PVDF-CNT foam. It was believed that the phase transition in PVDF-CNT foam from αto β-phase is attributed to the enhancement of compatibility of carboxylic acid groups with CF 2 groups, and CNT induced strong interaction that induced the crystallization of β-phase PVDF.…”
