Abstract:The new oxidant N-Chloropicolinamide (NCP) is synthesized by the chlorination of picolinamide using trichloroisocyanuric acid. The physical constant, formal redox potential, element analysis and spectra characterization (IR, UV, 1 H-NMR, C 13 -NMR and mass spectrum) confirms the presence of nitrogen-halogen bond.
