Synthesis and characterization of technetium(V) complexes with amine, alcoholate, and chloride ligands

Abstract: to the metal are capable of binding nonsynergistic anions and of affecting the reactivity of the metal.24,25 A different spatial arrangement of these clusters of positive charges in the two sites could account for the intersite differences. Refinement at higher resolution of the X-ray three-dimensional structure, which is now available for iron lactoferrin at 3.2-Á resolution,26 could give the appropriate answers. The results of the kinetic experiments on other metallotransferrins such as manganese(III) transfe… Show more

“…The MM force field yields the following energetics ordering: F < D < E . Submission of these structures to further refinement by PM3(tm)-GA geometry optimization (singlet spin state) indicates that geometry F is the electronically preferred one, consistent with the X-ray crystallographic evidence for GELFAE . The SEQM-derived energy ordering of the geometric isomers is the same as that of the MM: F < D (by 4 kcal/mol) < E (14 kcal/mol above isomer F ).…”

“…d. GELFAE (Chloro-(1,2-ethanediolato)-oxo-(1,10-phenanthroline- N , N ‘ )-technetium(V)). For this complex, three groups of conformational isomers ( D − F ) are expected and found from the MM conformational search. The MM force field yields the following energetics ordering: F < D < E .…”

“…Altematively, Tc complexes can be prepared by ligand substitution on an easily accessible precursor. Many examples can be cited, as [TcOCL,]-for Tc(V) complexes [3,4], [TcBrg]"-for Tc(IV) complexes [5] and [TcCtu)«]'"" (tu = thiourea) for Tc(in) ones [6,7]. If the incoming ligand is able to stabilize this Tc oxidation State, use of this substitution route allows to control the final oxidation State of the Tc product.…”

“…Furthermore, the energy of the emitted photons of 140 keV is sufficient to study organs lying deep in the body and can be collimated so as to be detected effectively with NaI(T1) scintillation counters. Finally, the relatively stable 99m Tc isotope may be used to develop technetium chemistry and to model technetium radiopharmaceuticals ( , ).…”
