Synthesis and Crystal Structure of Dimethyl{N-[(2-oxy-1-naphthyl)methylene]leucinato}silicon

Abstract:The title compound was prepared by reaction of the Schiff base ligand N-(2-hydroxy-1-naphthylidene)leucine with dichlorodimethylsilane in the presence of triethylamine as base. The resulting pentacoordinate silicon complex was characterized by NMR, IR, UV-Vis spectroscopy and melting point. The structure was confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction data.
