“…Employing this ligand, we have also reported the coordination‐cum‐binding events of biologically relevant monosaccharides such as D‐glucose, D‐xylose and D‐mannose with new mononuclear iron(III) and zinc(II) complexes in aqueous solution . Similar carboxyamine‐based tridentate N , N , O ligands which easily coordinate to copper(II), cobalt(II) and nickel(II) ions to form one dimensional coordination polymers have been reported in the literature . It is noteworthy to mention that the (2‐pyridyl)alkylamine‐appended carboxylate‐based ligands are well‐utilized to prepare the coordination polymers of manganese(II), cobalt(II), nickel(II), copper(II), zinc(II) and lanthanum(III) ions which have exhibited interesting magnetic properties .…”
