Synthesis and Dielectric and Ferroelectric Properties of Ceramics in (1-x)Pb(Zr1/2Ti1/2)O3–(x)Pb(Co1/3Nb2/3)O3 System

Abstract: Ceramics in a PZT-PCN system with the formula (1 À x)Pb(Zr 1=2 Ti 1=2 )O 3 -(x)Pb(Co 1=3 Nb 2=3 )O 3 , where x ¼ 0:1{ 0:5, were prepared using a solid-state mixed-oxide technique (the columbite-wolframite precursor method). The phase formation behavior and microstructure were studied using X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis and scanning electron microscopy (SEM), respectively. The dielectric and ferroelectric properties of the compounds were studied and discussed. Phase-pure perovskites of PZT-PCN ceramics were … Show more

“…However, the single phase presents only a composition of x = 0.1, while the compositions x ≥ 0.2 have many secondary phase. In the present work, the (1 − x)Pb(Zr 1/2 Ti 1/2 )O 3 −(x)Pb(Fe 1/3 Nb 2/3 )O 3 composition was prepared and synthesized by the solid-state reaction of these raw materials and mixed by vibratory-milling technique in ethanol for 6 h. After drying, the product was calcined in an alumina crucible at a temperature of 900 • C with a heating/cooling rate 5 • C/min [6]. The calcined powders were uniaxially cold-pressed at 2.5 tons into disc-shaped pellets with a diameter of 12.7 mm and a thickness of 1 mm, with 3 wt% poly (vinyl alcohol) (PVA) added as a binder.…”

“…It is known that oxygen vacancies are the main cause of domain wall clamping which leads to the reduction of dielectric constant [25,[34][35]. The tanG of KN doped BT ceramics is lower than that of pure BT ceramics.…”
