Synthesis and electrochemical testing of novel doped polyaniline and biomass‐derived carbon‐based composite for supercapacitors

Pranoti H. Patil,
Vidya V. Kulkarni,
Aakanksha K. Mane
et al.

Abstract: This work reports the synthesis and testing of doped polyaniline (PANI) and Pisum sativum derived activated carbon (PSAC) based composite as efficient electrode material for supercapacitors. The structure, morphology, elemental analysis, and surface area of the materials were studied using x‐ray diffraction analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive x‐rays, Raman spectroscopy, and Brunauer–Emmett–Teller analysis. The electrochemical performance of the mat… Show more

“…1 They are categorized into three types: electric double-layer capacitors (EDLCs), pseudo capacitors, and hybrid-based devices, each with a different energy storage mechanism. 2 EDLCs use carbon and non-faradaic reactions to store charge. Faradaic reactions are used in pseudocapacitive materials such as metal oxides (MOs), metal sulfides, metal hydroxides, and polymers.…”
