Synthesis and EPR Studies of Copper Metal Complexes of Dyes Derived from Remazol Red B, Procino Yellow, Fast Green FCF, Brilliant Cresyl Blue with Copper Acetate Monohydrate

Abstract: The synthesis and characterization of four new solid dye complexes, CuL2(L= 2-[2-methoxy-5-(propane-1-sulfonyl)-phenyl azo]-naphthalen-1-ol, 5-{[3-(4,6-dihydroxy-[1,3,5]tri azine-2-ylamino)-phenyl]-hydrazones}-1-ethyl-4-methyl-2,6-dioxo-1,2,5,6-tetrahydro-pyridine-3-carboxylic acid diethylamide, 4-{bis-[4-(benzyl-ethyl-amino)-phenyl]-methyl}-phenol and 7-imino-4-methyl-7H-phenoxazine-1,3-diamine) is reported. The mode for ligand coordination has been determined by IR and EPR spectra. The carboxyl and amino gro… Show more

“…The FT-IR spectral data of the ligand and all complexes are listed in Table-2. The IR spectrum of the ligand exhibited bands at 3388 and 3377cm -1 ascribed to the υ(NH 2 ) stretching vibration [15], on coordination with metal ion, these bands were observed with a high change in the shape and locale. Strong band at 1716 cm -1 in the ligand spectrum referred to υ(C=O) vibration, change in the intensity and in position to lower frequency observed on coordination with metal ion [16].…”

“…Azo-transition metal complexes are attracting increasing attention in both fundamental and applied researches, due to their distinctive geometric and electronic characteristics [9,10]. Azotransition metal complexes are distinguished by the ability to obtain novel compounds with a wide range of biological activity, in addition to their low cost [11].…”
