“…Rare‐earth ions activated nitride phosphors with characteristic highly dense (Al/Si)N 4 tetrahedron show long wavelength emissions due to high covalence of the host crystal and large crystal field splitting of the Eu 2+ 5d level 3 . A series of Eu 2+ ‐activated nitride red‐emitting phosphors, which provide a high color rendering index for wLEDs, 4,5 have been developed recently, such as (Ca,Sr)AlSiN 3 :Eu 2+ , 6 Sr 2 Si 5 N 8 :Eu 2+ , 7 Sr[LiAl 3 N 4 ]:Eu 2+ , 8 et al So far, CaAlSiN 3 :Eu 2+ (CASN:Eu 2+ ) phosphor has gained much more attention as down‐conversion luminescent material due to its high quantum efficiency and chemical stability. However, the wider applications in high power white‐light‐emitting diodes (HP‐wLEDs), whose operated current density becomes more than 10 times with respect to ordinary wLEDs, have raised more demanding requirements for excellent thermal stability of phosphors 9 .…”

“…Trivalent lanthanide (Ln 3+ ) ion doped luminescent materials have attracted much attention because of their applications in fields such as lighting, displays, optical sensors, bio-imaging and solar energy harvesting. They are of particular interest for white-light-emitting devices (W-LEDs) Hai et al, 2018;Wang et al, 2018;Yang et al, 2018;He et al, 2018;Zhao et al, 2018a;Zhu et al, 2018;Zhou et al, 2018). W-LEDs are predicted to become important sources due to their low power consumption, high brightness, fast response and long durability.…”
