“…At the same time, the ν Ln‐O stretching vibration band of complexes were observed at 416, 416, 418, 419 cm −1 . All these above suggest that oxygen atoms of the carboxylate groups are coordinated to the Ln(III) ions . The bands ν C=N and δ C‐H shift to higher wave numbers in the complexes compared to the free ligand 5,5′‐DM‐2,2′‐bipy, proving that the nitrogen atoms of the 5,5′‐DM‐2,2′‐bipy were also coordinated to the Ln(III) ion …”

“…After MeBIP excitation, a ligand‐to‐Tb energy transfer takes place from the 3 ππ* excited state of MeBIP to the D 4 level of Tb 3+ . So four peaks appear at 491 nm ( 5 D 4 → 7 F 6 ), 547 nm ( 5 D 4 → 7 F 5 ), 588 nm ( 5 D 4 → 7 F 4 ) and 625 nm ( 5 D 4 → 7 F 3 ), indicative of the terbium metal centered emission . The shift of ligand emission and the appearance of Tb 3+ emission demonstrate that MeBIP ligand is binding to Tb 3+ .…”

“…Furthermore, the values for ∆[∆ as (COO) -∆ s (COO)] are falling in the range of 197 cm -1 for all the complexes (1-9), indicating that indo ligand is coordinated to the RE 3+ as chelating or bridging mode. [21][22][23] These results strongly suggest that those complexes are either binuclear or coordination polymers. Moreover, the absorption bands around 1468 and 1423 cm -1 indicate that bipy and phen heteroaromatic ligands are coordinated to the metal ions through their nitrogen atoms.…”
