Synthesis and modification of 7H-dibenzo[de,h]quinolin-7-ones (microreview)

Abstract

The present review will illustrate the important role of the synthesis and functionalization of 7H-dibenzo-[de,h]quinolin-7-ones. The methods used for preparation of 7H-dibenzo[de,h]quinolin-7-ones can be classified into two groups: intermolecular cyclizations of 1-alkynyl-9,10-anthraquinones and intramolecular cyclizations of isoquinoline derivatives with N-nucleophiles.of Sinomemium acutum 2 have been used in traditional Chinese medicine as analgesics and antipyretics. 3 Dibenzo-[de,h]quinolin-7-one alkaloid derivatives have high binding affinity with DNA and demonstrate toxicity in several cell lines, 2-4 as well as neurotoxicity. 5 They can be used as dual inhibitors for cholinesterases and amyloid beta aggregation, 6,7 and are effective for malaria prevention and treatment. 8
