“…Each copolymer exhibited a sharp melting transition ( T m ) due to crystalline PEO blocks in addition to a glass transition temperature ( T g ) corresponding to the amorphous PIB (Supporting information). As previously reported, it was found that, while the T g remained relatively constant ( ca −65 °C), the T m of the PEO decreased upon incorporation into the copolymer in comparison with that of the PEO homopolymer. For example, copolymer 1.5‐PEO750‐8% ( 3 ) containing 8 wt% PEO with a mass of 750 g mol −1 had a T m of 18 °C in comparison with PEO homopolymer of 750 Da which had a T m of 32 °C.…”

“…Despite the high hydrophobicity of PIB, we were able to demonstrate in recent work that upon the incorporation of sufficient PEO content it was possible to disperse the lin ‐PIB‐ g ‐PEO in water through the preparation of nanometre‐sized spherical particles . Particles with different diameters in the range ca 30–500 nm were obtained by dissolving the copolymers in THF, rapidly adding water, and then removing the THF by dialysis against water.…”
