Synthesis and scintillation properties of Ce-doped CaZrO3single crystals

Abstract: Undoped and Ce-doped CaZrO 3 single crystals were synthesized by the floating zone method equipped with four xenon arc lamps, and their optical and scintillation properties were evaluated. The synthesized single crystals show high transmittance at a wavelength longer than 400 nm. The excitation and emission spectra of undoped CaZrO 3 single crystal excited by vacuum ultraviolet (VUV) light show emission peaks at around 340 and 600 nm.
