. -The reaction of epoxide (I) with thiourea (II) and acetone thiosemicarbazone (IV) gives rise to formation of heterocyclic compounds (III) and (V). In the reaction mixture of (I) with o-phenylenediamine (VIa) heterocycle (VIIa) and a small amount of benzimidazole (VIIIa) is detected. A more complex mixture is obtained with diaminonaphthalene (VIb).
