Synthesis, antiherpes, and antibacterial activity of N-linked conjugates of eremomycin with adamantanecarboxylic acids

Abstract

N 1 -linked conjugates of eremomycin with 1-adamantylacetic and p-(1-adamantyl)phenoxyacetic acids were synthesized for the first time. Their activity against herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV-2) was demonstrated (SI1 0). At the same time, modification of the N-methylleucine fragment of eremomycin with adamantanecarboxylic acids led to some decrease in antibacterial activity.
