Abstract:Cardanol a naturally occurring C 15 unsaturated aliphatic chain substituted phenol derived from cashew nut shell liquid (CNSL) was used for the preparation of Schiff base ligand using Histidine. di-α-formylmethoxybis (3-pentadecenylphenyl) methane is prepared from cardanol using standard methods.
