Abstract:In this study, we first synthesized a salisaldehyde-based terpolymer (SBT) ligand using salisaldehyde and phenylthiourea with glutaraldehyde. We then synthesized SBT metal complexes (SBT-M(II)) with the use of transition metal ions, such as Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), and Zn(II). To elucidate the structure and geometry of the metal ions, SBT and SBT-M(II) were characterized by elemental and spectral analysis. SBT-Co(II) and SBT-Ni(II) showed six coordination bonds with two water molecules, whereas SBT-Cu(II) and S… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
