Synthesis, Characterization and Docking Studies of Some Novel Dihydropyridine Derivatives

Abstract: The synthesis of a novel dihydropyridine derivatives bearing dimedone as an excellent precursor has been achieved by applying three component Hantzsch condensation. The newly synthesized compounds were characterized by IR, NMR, Mass spectra and also by Elemental analyses. All synthesized compounds undergo docking studies and biological screening for antimicrobial activity against Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria and fungal species. Among all the tested compounds, it was found that compound 3d, 3e… Show more

“…One of the effective factors to reduce antibacterial inhibition is the existence of electron donor groups in the structure of compounds. 44 Moreover, as the data in Table 4 show, among the relevant synthesized polymers, PAs derived from dipicolinic acid (PA-aIII and PA-bIII) have more antimicrobial activity compared to other PAs, may be related to the presence of electronwithdrawing pyridine, 45 also PAs containing (-OMe) groups indicated a less antimicrobial activity than PAs containing benzil segment. Generally, NPs when interacting with the surface of bacterial and fungal, and with entering to inside the cell causing its destruction.…”
