Synthesis, characterization, and photoluminescence property of Nd–TUD‐1

Abstract: Here, five different samples of neodymium (Nd) incorporated 3D‐mesoporous siliceous materials were fabricated using a single‐step hydrothermal technique. Typically, all samples were subjected to several qualitative elemental and quantitative analyses such as X‐ray diffraction, N2‐adsorption/desorption, scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X‐ray, mapping, high resolution transmission electron microscopy, diffuse reflectance ultraviolet–visible, and Raman spectroscopy. The characterization results sho… Show more

“…5(a and b), pristine TUD-1 displayed flake-like structures of non-uniform sizes at a resolution of 20 μm. 36 However, at a higher resolution of 200 nm, the micrographs revealed silica particles with a fluffy, cotton-like structure. Fig.…”

“…[121] Other applications include photocatalysis, [113,137,138] or photoluminescence with bismute materials, [109] lantane, [116] or neodinium. [119] In the latter, small loading of Nd (i.e., Si/Nd > 20) only generates isolated centers of trivalent neodymium ions tetrahedrally coordinated in the TUD-1 matrix. However, if the neodymium loading is increased, nanoparticles of neodymium oxide with size 10-20 nm are formed into silica pores.…”
