Synthesis, characterization, and regeneration of an inorganic–organic nanocomposite (ZnO@biomass) and its application in the capture of cationic dye

Abstract: Despite the efficiency of ZnO nanoparticle (NPs) composite adsorbents in the adsorption of various pollutants, there is presently no report on the combo of Znonps with biomass for adsorption. Besides, there is a dearth of information on the biosorption of celestine blue (ceB), a dye used in the nuclear and textile industry. in this study, biogenic-chemically mediated synthesis of a composite (Zno@Acp) was prepared by the impregnation of Znonps onto Ananas comosus waste (Acp) for the adsorption of ceB. the SeM,… Show more

“…After the adsorption of dye, the BRB-loaded ZnONP showed shifts in absorption bands from 3369 to 3377 cm -1 and 1380 to 1330 cm -1 for OH, from 2008 to 2033 cm -1 for the O=C=O, and from 550 to 557 cm -1 for the Zn-O functionalities. This indicated the involvement of the OH and Zn-O groups in the uptake of BRB on the adsorbent and that the mechanism of BRB uptake on ZnONP could be attributed to electrostatic interactions, H-bonding as well as weak Vander Waals interaction 46 .…”
