Synthesis, Characterization and Structural Study of New Ethyl Thiourea Compounds and the Preliminary Naked-eye Sensors for Mercury and Argentum Metal Ions

Abstract: Novel ethyl thiourea compounds 1a-1f have been synthesized in good to high yields. The structure of all compounds were identified using FT-IR, 1 H NMR, 13C NMR spectroscopies, and ESI-Mass spectrometry. The compound 1-ethyl-3-(3-methoxyphenyl) thiourea 1e was obtained in crystalline form by recrystallization from DMSO.
