Synthesis, Characterization of Mixed Ligand Palladium(II) Complexes of Triphenylphosphine and Anilines and their Enzyme Inhibition Studies against β-glucuronidase. The Crystal Structure of trans-dichloro-(m-chloroaniline)(triphenylphosphine)palladium(II)

Abstract: A number of palladium(II) complexes with Ph 3 P and aromatic amines as ligands having the general formula [(Ph 3 P)Pd(Ph 3 P)(NH 2 R)Cl 2 ] {where R = Ph (1), m-ClC 6 H 4 (2), p-ClC 6 H 5 (3)} and [Pd(CH 3 NHPh)Cl 2 ] (4), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1 H and 13 C NMR. The X-ray crystal structure of [(Ph 3 P)Pd(m-ClC 6 H 4 NH 2 )Cl 2 ] AE CH 2 Cl 2 (2) shows a distorted square planar environment around the Pd(II) ion with the PAPdAN and Cl(1)APdACl(2) bond angles of 174.88… Show more

“…Therefore, metal complexes with coordinatable metal centres exhibit significant bacterial bGLU inhibitory activities. To this end, Pd(II) complexes containing aniline and triphenylphosphine ligands were synthesized [250]. Para-chloroaniline derived metal complex 182 (Fig.…”

“…The mean plane of the PdCl 2 CP is almost coplanar with the r.m.s deviation of 0.042 Å. The important bond lengths [Pd1‐Cl1=2.340(3) Å, Pd1‐Cl2=2.349(3) Å, Pd1‐P1=2.258(2) Å and Pd1‐C1=1.966 (2) Å] are compatible with the other palladium complexes in the literatüre . When the mean Pd‐C carbene bond lengths in the cis and trans form Palladium(II) complexes are compared, it appears that the carbene ligands are more strongly bound to the Pd‐center in the cis ‐form .…”

“…Firstly, the general passivity of the reaction system in the absence of KI might be explained by the inherent presence of aniline derivatives. These NH 2 ‐containing substrates contribute to decreasing the overall reaction rate of the process, probably owing to an easy interaction with palladium, even in the presence of phosphine ligand ,. Thus, the effect of KI would be crucial to increasing the overall reaction rate, probably by competing with the NH 2 group for the metal coordination …”
