“…9. The behavior of total conductivity is similar to that obtained for the double perovskites SmBaCo 2-x Fe x O 6-δ [34], but the absolute values of the variations are approximately two orders of magnitude smaller. However, the value of total conductivity of Sm 2-ε Ba 3+ε Fe 5 O 15-δ is one order higher in comparison to the undoped SmBaFe 2 O 6-δ at least at room temperature [13].…”

“…This has been demonstrated for a myriad of elements (M) including but not limited to Sc, Mn, Ni and Cu, where a larger proportion of M reduces the coefficient [376][377][378][379][380][381][382]. The attentive reader may here question why Fe has been excluded from the list of examples but this was done intentionally as the effect of Fe substitutions on thermal expansion has been contradictory [373,[383][384][385][386][387][388]. We will therefore now focus on the system BaRECo 2−x Fe x O 6−δ in attempt to rationalize the contradicting studies.…”

“…In fact, when long-lasting stability tests are performed, the measured ASR values increase over time due to (at least) some microstructural [79] rearrangements at the cathodeeelectrolyte interface [97,98]. Among commercially available electrolyte materials, YSZ has been reported to react with several double perovskites materials, such as the PrBaCo 2Àx Fe x O 5þd series [39] where the authors reported reactivity for temperatures as low as 700 C for 20 h with the appearance of small peaks belonging to PrCoO 3 or PrFeO 3 phases, while at 900 C a larger amount of BaZrO 3 develops; in SmBaCo 2Àx Fe x O 5þd series [62], the growth of BaZrO 3 is identified after annealing at 900 C for 24 h that is not influenced by the amount of iron in the structure. Tarancon et al [99] proposed a complete characterization for GdBaCo 2 O 5þd double perovskite stability, concluding that it presents high reactivity with YSZ even at low temperature (700 C).…”
