“…Adsorption of organic inhibitor species at the C‐steel/solution interface consists of the modification of H 2 O molecules by inhibitor species based on the following process (Equation ): Inhibitoritalicsol0.5em+0.5emzH2Oitalicads0.75em0.5emInhibitoritalicads0.5em+0.5emzH2Oitalicsol where z is the number of H 2 O molecules substituted by the inhibitor species, Inhibitor (ads) and Inhibitor (sol) are inhibitor species in the adsorbed on the steel surface and solution, respectively. Several adsorption isotherms including Freundlich, Bockris–Swinkels, Langmuir, Flory–Huggins and Temkin isotherms could be applied to fit the values of surface coverage ( θ ) at various concentrations in order to determine the adsorption behavior of the investigated inhibitors.…”

“…Among the various hetero-atom containing compounds, Schiff bases are quite effective because of the presence of a nitrogen atom, and several such compounds have been reported in the literature as potential corrosion inhibitors for metals and alloys in an acidic medium. [9][10][11][12][13] The growing popularity of Schiff bases as corrosion inhibitors is primarily based on their low toxicity and convenience of synthesis from very inexpensive starting materials. 14,15 Schiff bases are 1,16-21 wellknown for their potential for corrosion inhibition, and plentiful research on organic inhibitors has shown that Schiff bases have much greater inhibition efficiencies compared to the analogous aldehydes and amines.…”

“…The presence of imine bonds in the surfactant structure enhances their activity as corrosion inhibitors, especially at higher temperatures. Based on this, we prepared cationic surfactants with functional groups that provide increased electronic charge density (Bedair et al, ; Hegazy and Aiad, ). Studying the surfactant solution behavior is essential for evaluating the new surfactants.…”
